Armour: The Red Coat

Greetings, LGBTQIA readers and writers, stop by Rainbow Snippets, a great, safe place to discover your future favourite books and authors!

This week’s snippet is a poem that Derek Rollins writes just after awakening after a nightmare:

“Swimming through black bubbles
My vision blurred by oceans
I’m looking for this baby
Who no longer has a home
The woman holds her belly
But the vessel of life is empty
The man sheds his suit like skin
And now he’s a soldier
In a red coat
Searching the barren fields
The oceans drained
The salt is gone
The life does not go on
Red coat searches doggedly
For the lost baby.”
